Share a gift of love and the Gospel with a child in need this Christmas.

September might seem too early to mention Christmas, but for any organization set on making the holidays brighter for the needy, it’s a perfect time.

Christmas Backpacks is a ministry of the Southern Baptists, more specifically the WMU or women’s ministry. They send backpacks stuffed with school supplies, toys, and food to children all over the United States.

I live in Alabama and our state WMU has set the backpack collection week from October 28th-November 2nd. The 2019 outreach is for children living along the Mississippi River. They’re among some of the poorest in the U.S. Generation after generation in the region live without basic human necessities.

Alabama Baptists are challenged to provide at least 9500 backpacks. My church, The Bridge Christian Fellowship, hopes to exceed the fifty backpacks we sent last year.

If you live somewhere other than Alabama, you can search the internet for “Christmas Backpacks Baptist WMU ministry” and find a donation site near you.

What is your church or organization doing this year to make life better for others? I’d love to share it on Small Acts of Kindness. Please go to my contact page and let me know…
