Last fall, we started painting the ceiling and walls of our home. We’d finished all except our bedroom and bathroom when Thanksgiving rolled around. At that point, I gave up. The holidays were too hectic, so I decided to begin again in January.
But then life.
April has arrived, and we are in the final stretch of painting. I’m so relieved and plan not to paint again for ten years. At least.
If ever…
There is just something about cleaning and a fresh coat of paint that ushers in the spring season.
I sit quietly at my computer and let the newness seep into my soul. Green grass, early flowers, days of hot, then stormy, then cool, then hot again.
Alabama spring.
Hope fills the cold, tired crevasses inside, and I smile.
Hello, Spring!
Here’s my favorite spring Bible verse from Song of Solomon 2: 11-12 (ESV). “For behold, the winter is past; the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth, the time of singing has come…”
I know many are still in the throes of winter. How is the weather where you are, and are you seeing touches of a new season yet? I’d love to chat about it…
The winter has delayed a lot of plants, but we are heading into full blooms this weekend. Our weeping cherry is decked out in its Easter best.
A weeping cherry sounds beautiful. Glad it’s warming up your way…
