I have an on-going issue with balance in my life. I’ve had more falls than I can count over the last 15 years . I have no idea how many times I’ve been in physical therapy to combat it.

One day, several years ago, I got an e-mail from a friend saying, “Can you come by the office some time this week? I have something for you.” Ok, I thought. I had no idea what it was, but I hadn’t seen Suzanne in a while, so I thought it’d be nice to drop by.

When I went in, she handed me a box with insoles called VoxxBliss.“These are supposed to help with balance” she said. “They’re made with special technology that makes you automatically shift your weight so you don’t fall. Try them on and see if you like them.” She said when she heard about them from a colleague, she thought of me.

I was a little skeptical. Technology in how an insole’s made? And it helps with your balance? Sounded a little odd. But I tried them on and stood, figuring I had nothing to lose. They did seem make a difference.

“I think they may help. How much are they?” I asked.

“Don’t worry about it.”

She never would tell me. We cut them to fit my foot and placed them in my shoes. I wear them all the time now. When I change my shoes, I just put them in the other pair.

I fall a lot less now, because Suzanne thought of me and chose to make a difference in my life.
