“Where flowers bloom, so does hope.” —Lady Bird Johnson

And isn’t that what we all need? More hope? If I have hope, that expectation, a certainty of the future, then I can get out of bed one more morning. I can put one foot in front of the other and walk down the path that God has laid out for me.

Because God is in my future.

Your future.

Proverbs 23:18 says: “Surely there is a future [and a reward], and your hope and expectation will not be cut off.”

So, I choose to believe. I choose to hope. I choose to trust God.

Life is difficult at times. There are so many decisions each day that bombard us from all sides. We are needed by family and friends. By our place of work. By our church and community. And even our own needs. How do we choose what to do, when, and how?

I’ve had to learn to make plans for the future while living day-to-day. I don’t like being spontaneous or flexible to a degree. It’s not in my nature. I’m a planner. Have been from birth. But if I want to follow God’s path, the way Jesus did, I know detours lie ahead. Uncomfortable days. Sleepless nights.

But constantly, consistently, I follow God’s way. I definitely do not always get it right. Instead, I stumble and fumble my way back off a side road, onto His trail.

Once again.

But He loves me, and that’s really all I need to remember.

I put my hope in God and rest.

Once again.

Are you a planner? I’d love to know…
