I came across this interesting verse in the New Living Translation of the Bible–Hebrews 10:24. “Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.”

Motivate. Stimulating your interest or the interest of another toward good works and love. What an awesome thought…

We can inspire people to make a difference in the world. To bring hope. And I have found that nothing brings me more hope than when I am ministering to other people.

Whether it’s making pleasant conversation with a cashier, working with a food bank, praying for a friend, or taking part in a mission outreach, ministry to others begets hope. Now begat is an old Bible word which means bring about. We can actually bring about our own sense of hope by reaching out to others and teaching them to do the same.

And it all boils down to love. I ask Jesus daily to give me love for myself and others so I can freely minister. He said to ask and you will receive. So I keep asking and receiving and loving and motivating.

Until the day He takes me home…

What about you? Can you share an example of how you have motivated others toward love and good works? I’d love to hear from you …
