Sometimes you just need a change of venue to receive a shot of hope. Maybe as simple as taking a day to shop, enjoy nature, or spending time with family. The humdrum of work and home and hurry that make up our week can take a toll.

I know. I ran into the dollar store after a busy day and a lady spoke to me. She mentioned that I looked a little weary from work and to take heart, tomorrow was Friday. I didn’t tell her I work at home but work is work and busy is busy.

Anyway back to hope. I’m leaving Wednesday to go to a writing conference. I’m so excited to see friends, some I’ve only met in Zoom meetings or talked to through email. There is just something about spending time with like-minded people.

I feel hope surging inside me. I need a change after a long season of busy and I plan to enjoy every minute.

I also realize I need to probably take more time, even if short-term, to relax.

Rest.

A change of venue.

What do you do when you are feeling a little hopeless because of the same ‘ol same ‘ol? I’d love to hear your thoughts…
